IT Solutions Architect (Aberdeen/Scotland)
As an IT Solutions Architect within Redsquid, you will be responsible for designing and delivering best-in-class IT solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.

As an IT Solutions Architect within Redsquid, you will be responsible for designing and delivering best-in-class IT solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
You will lead technical discovery sessions, design scalable solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Sentinel, Intune, and network/firewall infrastructure, and support the sales team with pre-sales input and client proposals. You will also guide project delivery, ensuring solutions are implemented to a high standard with a focus on security, compliance, and performance.

Core Technical Skills
Microsoft 365 Expertise:
- Strong experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Experience with M365 migrations, hybrid identity, cross-tenant moves, and security features like DLP, Sensitivity Labels, and retention policies.
- Familiarity with licensing models, delegated admin roles, and secure configuration baselines.
Azure Infrastructure:
- Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS, virtual networking, storage, NSGs, load balancers, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall.
- Working knowledge of Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, and hybrid environments.
- Skills in Azure governance including policies, management groups, tagging, cost control, and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
Microsoft Sentinel & Security:
- Proven experience implementing Microsoft Sentinel: connecting data sources, building analytics rules, creating workbooks/dashboards, and writing KQL queries.
- Understanding of incident response, security event correlation, and automation via Logic Apps.
- Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles: Zero Trust, Conditional Access, MFA, identity protection, and secure score improvement.
Intune / Endpoint Management:
- Deployment and configuration of Intune, AutoPilot, configuration profiles, compliance and security policies.
- Experience with application deployment, device encryption, and monitoring/reporting.
- Integration with Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Purview (optional but beneficial).
Networking & Firewalls:
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals: IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP.
- Configuration and deployment of firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Ubiquiti), including site-to-site VPNs, remote access VPNs, and secure segmentation.
- DNS and SSL/TLS certificate management.
Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement:
- Confident engaging with clients during scoping calls, solution workshops, and technical reviews.
- Experience creating proposals, high-level designs (HLD), low-level designs (LLD), and cost estimates.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders of all levels.
Project Delivery & Documentation:
- End-to-end experience delivering cloud infrastructure and modern workplace projects.
- Strong documentation standards and ability to contribute to internal technical libraries.
- Knowledge of service transition, change control, and project handover procedures.
Skills and Experience required as an IT Solutions Architect (Aberdeen/Scotland)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within an MSP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present solutions clearly and professionally.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in security and infrastructure issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior team members.
- Organised and ability to follow processes
- Any Microsoft exams are a bonus, but we will also invest in you to further grow your skills
- Bonus Experience
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
- Exposure to MSP platforms (e.g., Autotask, IT Glue).
- Awareness of compliance standards like Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, or GDPR
