Redsquid Complete Huge Office Expansion
Considering that the business first began in the COO’s spare bedroom, it’s impressive to see how far Redsquid has grown in just twelve years. We now occupy a work-space built to hold over 100 employees, which we hope to fill in the near future, whether through permanent recruitment, potential acquisitions, or hot-desking. We also wanted to provide a more positive and up-to-date working environment for our staff, to help improve their wellbeing and carry Redsquid into the future.
When asked about the intention behind the expansion and renovation, our CEO Sohin Raithatha said: “We’ve been in our current headquarters for about five years now, and we wanted to make it fit better with the advances our business has experienced since then. Also, with staff spending so much of their day here, we wanted to create an environment where they felt both motivated to work and encouraged to let their hair down a bit.”
The expansion includes new meeting and office areas, a hot-desking section, a larger kitchen and recreation area (including pool table and drinks fridge), and a sitting area dedicated to creative thinking. The walls have also been re-decorated with a selection of bright colours and sections celebrating Redsquid’s history, charity projects, and staff. Regarding the new design, Sohin commented: “The office now really illustrates our identity to new employees and visitors, and that there is an essential human element to the company. There is still a little more work to be done, but everyone is very pleased with it, and we’re looking forward to growing into the space.”
